a minimalist text based weather forecasting app that dictates the weather in a rather humorous tone. just set your location and it simply tells it like it is… when its cold “it’s kinda frosty!” etc. also provides temp, humidity and wind speed.

illustrates the time in words, even cooler is that you can fully customize the type, color combo, language, etc. the screenshot doesn’t do it justice!

this neat little app creates simple and well formatted swiss typography posters with nice line breaks. you enter your message, select an image from your library (optional), and voila. its great for making elegant text based wallpapers too!

this is another type based identification game to add to the mix, but, in this case, rather then it being solo, its a social one for a change. you compete against your friends or the cloud. a very simple and minimal design that focuses on the type as the main character. pardon the pun.

addLib (Geometries in Design) mixes the Grid System, fractal theory, the golden ratio and Facial Recognition. It magically and somewhat randomly creates stunning graphic designs from your photo library. A graphic designers guilty pleasure for sure. This is an amazingly innovative app and its one of my new favorites!

simple typographic clock, spelling the time out in number words. its animation is very elegant and smooth. commune also has done the Hello 365 printed annual forJapan Graphic Designers Association Inc. (JAGDA).

a collaboration with renowned designer, illustrator and typographer, rian hughes. the hour & minutes are displayed in bold black, seconds display slowly over a minute. the background color can change automatically as well. super simple, as all it does is tell time.

a very useful designer utility to capture a snap of type in the real world for reference and research. quite simple to use but a tad slow depending on network speeds, it is uploading/downloading multiple fonts for comparison after all.

now you can snub your friends who dont believe your a typophile for real. this game is NOT easy, even for the experienced font fanatics like myself. there is even an exceedingly difficult setting!
